Welcome to The Chinese Language School
The
Chinese Language School (TCLS) is a non-profit, and
non-political educational institution, open to all, regardless
of race, religion, or national origin. The purpose of TCLS is to
teach Chinese language, to introduce Chinese culture, and to
provide Chinese culture activities and other relevant programs
for youths.
The organization and educational program of
The Chinese Language School, Inc. are formulated to :
- Help children of Chinese descent to better
understand their heritage and appreciate their culture;
- Provide people of non-Chinese
background with the opportunity to study the Chinese language
and foster a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture.
TCLS is a school for pursuing knowledge,
moral principals, and team works. This will be accomplished
through providing Chinese culture activities and relevant programs
for youths.
Currently, we offer language classes from K1 -
Grade 9 and one bilingual class, between 2 - 4 PM on every Sunday, we also offer SAT II course for students
that are interested to take this exam.
Between 4 - 5 PM are the culture classes which include classes such as Chinese chess
and go, arts and crafts,
Folk dance, Calligraphy, Painting, Kung-Fu, and Chinese music
instruments such as DiZi (flute), ErHu (2 string violin), and YangChing
(dulcimer), etc.
TCLS is also a school for family, parents are encouraged to
participate in school affairs and activities. During student's
language class session, parents can take Tai-Chi, Yuan-Ji dance, ErHu
lessons or play basketball and other sports, join a weekly round table
discussion (parent lead), and monthly special topic (invited
expert).
