·
We will hold
our first Parents’ Meeting this Sunday from 2:15 to 3:30pm in the
cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to meet the staff and have your
questions answered. I hope everyone can attend.
·
When there are
other activities held at Clark School, parking may become difficult. Please
always
observe public parking rules and regulations. Under no circumstances
should anyone
park in the fire lane or the designated “NO PARKING” area.
o
Clarke School has an additional small parking lot in
the
back
of the school building, at the end of Stedman Rd. To get to that lot
from Waltham St., turn on to Allen Street (the next street before/after
the traffic light at Brookside Avenue, which goes to the school’s main
parking lot), then turn left onto Stedman Rd. and follow it to the end.
·
Extracurricular classes started
last
week (09/20).
Classes offered
include: Martial Art, Arts and Crafts, Painting, Fun Math, Dizi
(Chinese Bamboo Flute), Chinese Folk Dance, Basketball,
Guitar,
Ping
Pong, and Chinese Yo-Yo.
o
Students can
still try out different classes this week but parents must complete the
enrollment or transfer with our Secretary by the end of the day (09/27).
·
If you have
parent duty on Sunday, please arrive at the requested time (see
assignment list below).
·
Bakery items are sold
in
the cafeteria during
recess.
Most items are $1.00 or $1.25. You may place special orders for baked
goods by completing an order form. Order forms are
placed
on the snack table in the back of the cafeteria. (See
Susan
Bottan for details.)
o
Please remind
your child that they can only have their snack in the cafeteria; no food
is allowed in classrooms or in the hallway.

One of our
parents has a pear orchard in upper state New York. This year’s harvest
of Asian pears is in. They are sweet, juicy, and 100% organic; no
pesticide was ever applied. They will be sold at our school store this
Sunday and all proceeds will go to the Chinese School. Please come and
try them out.
