·         The school is in the process of publishing the school directory and is looking for sponsorship in the form of business advertisements as well as individual donations.  If you know of any potential business advertisers or if you yourself can support this effort, please contact Cho-Li Teng (choli_teng@hotmail.com) as soon as possible.  Individual or family donor names will be published in the directory (without donation amount) for recognition.

·         On snowy days, Chinese School cancellation will be posted on our website (http://www.thechineselanguageschool.org). You will also be notified via email.

Interview with 4th grade teacher Anny Ku

1. How long have you been teaching in Chinese School?

I have been teaching for twelve years.

 

2. Do you always want to teach?

I do. I like to work with children. It is a very rewarding experience to watch them grow through different stages of life.

 

3. What is the biggest class you ever had? and the smallest ?

There are 18 students in my class this year, and this is the biggest class that I have ever had. My smallest class was 10.

 

4. Based on your experience, what is the most challenging task as a Chinese teacher?

To create an interesting and fun lesson is the most challenging job to me.

 

5. What is your best experience as a Chinese teacher?

To keep on learning new strategies and sharpen my skills to meet the needs of

students.

 

6. Do you have special hobbies?

I enjoy reading for my free time.

·         Summer Camp in Taiwan (2010)

Overseas Youth Chinese Language and Culture Summer Camps (sponsored by the ROC Taiwanese Government) will be held in Taiwan from July 6 to August 16, 2010, for ages 18 to 24.
