Newsletter 01/31/2010

From Principal Elaine Hsu

  • We are preparing for our Chinese Cultural Day event on February 7, 2010 to celebrate Chinese New Year. There will be plenty of food, games and raffle tickets for prizes to signify a new prosperous year. We welcome all families and their friends to participate in this event. Donation of raffle prizes will be greatly appreciated. If you can help, please contact Su-Ju Chen ( 978) 251-0171, jshiau1@msn.net.

  • We sincerely thank the following Staff members and parents for their generous donations: Sue Chiu, Irene Huang, Chia Shen, and Doris.

  • We still need larger prizes for carnival games on Cultural Day. If you have suitable toys or stationery items you can donate for this purpose, please bring them to the Office this Sunday. Thanks a lot.

  • Tickets for food/games (4 for $1) and raffles (1 for $5, 3 for $10, 7 for $20) will be pre-sold in the Office this Sunday. We encourage you to get them this week to avoid the long line on Cultural Day. This year, the same ticket can be used for both food and games; there will be no refund for unused tickets.

  • We are looking for parent helpers for the Arts & Crafts booth on Cultural Day. Arts & Crafts teacher Yu-Chuan Dao will be demonstrating the planned event items, including Tiger Mask, Red Envelope Lantern, Chinese Knots, etc., in the Office from 2 to 5 pm this Sunday. Please come join us if you're interested. Thanks.

  • .Parent Duty list for the whole school year has been posted on our school website: (http://www.thechineselanguageschool.org/newsletter.shtml).

  • On snowy days, Chinese School cancellation will be posted on our website. You will also be notified via email. Makeup day for last school cancellation (12/20/2009) is 04/04/2010 (Easter Sunday).
