Our Cultural Day and Chinese
New Year Celebration was a great success. We sincerely thank all the
staff/board members as well as parents, teachers, and students who
volunteered to help. We wish everyone a happy and prosperous Year of
Tiger.
School directory will be distributed to the students this
week (02/21). There's only one directory per family. For families
with more than one students enrolled, the oldest child will bring
home the directory. Please remember to obtain the directory from
your child. We also would like to especially thank Choli Teng, Wally
Mei, George Wang, and Irene Huang for their contribution in making
this directory possible.

Speaker
Gail Wang is currently the coordinator for teacher professional
development and outreach at Cheng&Tsui, a Boston based publisher
of Asian languages and cultures. Gail has been an English as Second
Language teacher for decades in both China and the US. She later
switched to Chinese language teaching, and has done teacher training
in language teaching methodologies. Mrs. Wang also worked for many
years in major museums in the Boston area with rich experience in
programming and exhibition as well as teacher trainings on China and
Chinese culture.

Chinese School cancellation will be posted on our website. You will
also be notified via email. Makeup day for last school cancellation
(12/20/2009) is 04/04/2010 (Easter Sunday).

Director Tung-Mei Pan
On
03/14/2010, the National Council of Associations of Chinese Language
Schools (NCACLS) will offer a National Preparation Test for the 2010
SAT II Chinese exam. Test Place: The Chinese Language
School, 17 Stedman Rd, Lexington, MA 02421. All 9th graders are
required to take the test; it is voluntary for 7th and 8th graders.
Scores will be available by April 30. For further
information, please come to the Office or check the following web
site: http://www.ncacls.org .

Director (acting) Dai-Hua Shiao
Master
of Science in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts;
Accountant license from Bentley College. 16 years of software
engineer experience and 3 years of accounting experience. Daughter
Elizabeth Shih graduated from TCLS and currently works at TCLS as 1st
Grade assistant and Folk Dance teacher.
This
is the 4th year Mrs. Shih teaches 1st Grade at
TCLS.
