From Curriculum
Director (acting) Dai-Hua Shiao
It
has been more than ten years since I first started teaching in 1996.
During this period of time I have taught grade four through grade
nine. My older son graduated from our school and my younger one
is a 9th
grader this year. All my family has special feeling toward our
school. We have made many friends here, not only students,
parents but especially those dedicated faulty and staff.
Teaching
Chinese is my leisure activity. I work for hospital.
Although I have never had formal training in teaching I have learned
many strategies through my own children, my students and other
Chinese School colleagues. Through participating in various
workshops, my electrical engineering training and the education I had
back in China, teaching Chinese has become my second career and it is
a very meaningful and inspiring one.

A compelling, seamless work of rhythm and movement in 100 minutes,
Sound of the Ocean was created by U-Theatre under the direction of
Liu Ruo-Yu and master drummer Huang Chih-Chun. An intense physical
and emotional experience, the work traces the cyclical journey of
water from a drop to a stream, from a river to the ocean.
