  • Happy Chinese New Year!
     
  • Instead of having classes in regular format this Sunday (2/1/2009), the school will hold its annual Chinese Cultural Day event to celebrate the New Year and introduce cultural activities to the students. The event schedule is as follows:
     
    • 2:00 – 3:30 PM Food and cultural activities, including dough figurines, Chinese painting, crafts, Chinese computer games, and others.
    • 2:30 – 3:30 PM  Games
    • 3:30 – 4:00 PM  Cultural performances, including Dragon dance, martial arts, flute, Chinese dance and others
    • 4:00 – 4:10 PM  Raffle prizes
       
  • Any family wishing to donate items or otherwise help out can contact the following school staff members:
     
  • If you are assigned to Parent Duty, please be on time.  Refer to the “PARENT DUTY ASSIGNMENT” item below.

There is a $50 fine for absence without prior notice to the vice-principal. 

After fulfilling your parent duty on the second week, please remember to pick up your deposit check in the office at 4:00pm. 

Curriculum Director: Tung-Mei Pan

On March 15, the National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools (NCACLS) will offer a National Preparation Test for the 2009 SAT II Chinese exam.  

Test Location: The Chinese Language School, 17 Stedman Rd, Lexington, MA 02421

We encourage all our 9th graders to take the test; it is voluntary for 7th and 8th graders.  Students wishing to take the practice test can register from now until February 1 with their teacher or in the office.  The registration fee is $10, payable to TCLS.
