  • This Sunday, 2/6, we’ll be celebrating the Cultural day and the Chinese New Year between 2:00 and 4:30pm. Food and raffle prize donation are still welcome. Tickets for food/games are 4 for $1 and raffles are 1 for $5, 3 for $10, 7 for $20. There will be no refund for unused tickets. We ask you to invite family and friends to have fun with us. All proceeds will be donated to the school.
  • On 2/13, Mr. Kaibin Wu will be hosting a seminar on “How to save the retirement money” at the cafeteria between 2:15 and 3:00.
  • Bakery items are sold in the cafeteria during recess.  Most items are priced at $1.25 or $1.50.  You may place special orders for baked goods by completing an order form.  Please see Susan Bottan for details.

  • Quizlet is a popular online memorization tool for language learning. We are glad to announce that we have made the Quizlet available for all the G1 to G7 lessons in flash cards, games and tests. You can find the Quizlet lessons from our website in the Classes page and we encourage parents to practice with your children. Please note that our Quizlet lessons are password protected and the password is ‘tcls’.

 

  • On March 13, the National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools (NCACLS) will offer a National Preparation Test for the 2011 SAT II Chinese exam.

Test Place: The Chinese Language School, 17 Stedman Rd, Lexington, MA 02421

We encourage all our 9th graders to take the test; it is voluntary for 7th and 8th graders.  Students wishing to take the practice test can register from now until February 6 with their teacher or in the office.  The registration fee is $10, payable to TCLS.

Scores will be available by April 30.  For further information, please come to the office.

2011 Bright Pearl Winter & Spring Dance Camp

The dance camps at Bright Pearl Dance Academy are designed to encourage children to express themselves through dance and give them the opportunities to perform. Each individual session is focused on different dance pieces and techniques taken from various dance styles, including Chinese dance, Jazz, Ballet and Modern dance. To enroll in the camp, students need to be above five years old, for more information please see here.

Tuition fee: $380 Snack & Lunch included

Schedule: 9:00am-5:00pm (pick up before 6:00pm). Winter Camp: Feb. 21-25 2011. Spring Camp April 18-22

2011 New England Chinese Youth Summer Camp
